WOYWW 189

Hello there and welcome to my first WOYWW post for 2013! What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday is hosted by Julia from Stamping GroundTo take a tour of creative desks from around the globe hop on over.

I have been knitting and also doing a bit of paper crafting.  Believe it or not I actually made a couple of ATCs to send off to a friend but forgot to take photos of them.  How could that happen?!?

So, here's my desk, as it is.  I'm trying to stay tidy (can you tell?).  I've been playing with my Cuttlebug getting some dies cut and embossing done.  That way I'll be ready to go when the mood strikes.
I cut my 12 x 12 paper to 6 x 6.  I feel so much better about that.  I know, I've probably made all you scrapbooker's groan.

As always, I will do my very best to visit those that end in the same number as me and everyone that leaves a comment (please leave your number).

A special shout out to Darnell who is celebrating her wedding anniversary.  Congratulations to you and yours!

Peace,
Kay

There is something to be said for not having a dedicated studio where you leave a room in a mess for a week, feigning angst every Wednesday.

Yes, I groaned very loudly, Kay but then I know if you want to make cards 12x12 is too big. You look as though you are getting very organised for when the mood takes you to do a bit of card making.

Those papers look yummy! I cut mine down too for cardmaking. Been hopping back to your posts I have missed - love the bib and well done winning the candy, what a nice surprise for you! xx

I use a lot of 6 x 6 for mini books but find the patterns of a lot of the larger sheets don't work well for them, so have both to organise and store! Your desk looks like it is very busy, hope you get to sit and play soon! Annette #3

Hi Kay. I'm always forgetting to take photos of stuff I make. Usually remember just after I seal the envelope - oops!

Hi Kay, your work space does look very tidy indeed, wish I could be so dedicated...but that's a whole other story. Love the baby bib from the last post too, not sure how I missed that one. Happy WOYWW, Hugs, Anne x

It's good when you can have a tidy plan and stick to it. I try but somehow things still get a little out of order oh well so is scrapping! (smiles) Thanks for dropping by last week!

Great crafting space! I was thinking about doing the same thing with a lot of my 12x12 but chickened out! I don't do much scrap booking and when I do the bases are usually solid colored so it made sense to me. Thanks for sharing and I hope you have a great week. Vickie #43

It looks ready to be shoved in that red box in case a realator stops by! How's that going, any lookers? Oh, and if that magazine has any St. Patrick's Day sayings, let me know! I'm battling St. Pats cards right now! Did you get your snow day? If they had rain days, we would be off work for awhile..oh wait, I don't work, lol ♥ waving hi from the soggy laden hills of North Carolina ☺

Your 'desk' is so tidy! And I bet it takes you 5 minutes to clear it off. Well, as soon as you're all settled again, you can get just as messy as you like. I am so envious that you got all your 12x12 cut up. I MUST do that. Are you up for a visit to SC???I have a wonderful Genesis cutter, and we could just have so much fun! What sizes did you cut your papers into? I've heard that one should start with 8 1/2 x 11 for the first cut. (Then I could file in folders in a file cabinet, get it off the floors, other surfaces!) Hugs & TFS. Stay warm (and ready to sell fast if opportunity knocks).

Oops...I read, but don't always retain. I asked a question as to size of your paper cuts, and hit publish when I remembered what you wrote! Sorry. Senior brain moment. LOL

Lovely window! Looks cold outside too. Perfectly good way to store your paper takes less room. Thanks for the earlier visit. Happy WOYWW! Nan 113

Happy New Year to you then - LOL. I did groan about the 12x12 to 6x6 but whatever is best for you I say. I did alot of Cuttlebug cutting the other day and agree that it sure does fill the gap when the mojo flags. Happy WOYWW BJ#55

Hi Kay

Whew, some mixed reactions here to chopping your paper into 6" squares. I'm with you in the main, although having recently taken to making envelopes I do have a box of 12" stock in reserve.Phew, I almost goofed there!

Fingers are crossed here for things to start to move on your house move. How is Tulip coming along?

Love, Di xx

Lovely "tidy" work table, Kay! Actually it looks upbeat, busy and productive! (And you do whatever you want with your 12 x 12s - tis entirely up to you girl!!!)

Thank you for your visit and your great comment. Yes, I am quite chuffed with the results, though I say so myself! Hope you scrolled down to my WOYWW post to see the mess...

Happy belated WOYWW,

Hi Kay, thank you so much for stopping by my blog. I have been away for so long and I missed you ladies like crazy. I am a scrapbooker and I even cut 12x12 into 6x6 for making cards and diecutting. So, as far as I am concerned it is ok. #99

I am glad I am not the only one who forgets to take pics before they send stuff off. I made some boxes for C and forgot to take pics! Doh! Fortunately I shall be seeing one on Sunday so will do it then!
I am not gonna moan at cutting 12x12 to 6x6 though if I want 6x6 I buy the small pads as then the patterns shrink too! The layout on my desk has been made using 6x6 papers!
I used to keep my ribbons in jars mixed but they used to annoy me when I had to tip them out as I never had any desk free!

I'm just now getting into 12x12!! Maybe doing Project Life has helped it become less intimidating? Don't know! :)

I don't know why the scrapbookers don't like us cutting up the paper, it suits us and that is all that really matters, they need to get over it LOL

Looks like you have had a productive time too, good for you, planning ahead is always a bonus.

Nice to see you are trying to keep it in order too.

happy WOYWW

I love the idea of cutting the 12x12 paper into 6x6 pieces and filing them. (And I am a scrapbooker)

Sorry I am 2 days late getting to your blog. I have been battling a nasty flu bug.

Love the idea of cutting the 12x12 to 6x6 as I am mainly a card maker - - I am not sharing a desk as away from home looking after my friends cattery but enjoying having a good look around everyone else's desk

Hi Kay
it does look very tidy, were are all the scrap pieces from the 6x6 cutting. Seems a bit of a shame to cut it up,still each to his own, they are very pretty looking papers

I'm sorry I am just now getting back to you. I took some time off to celebrate with Mister and today I'm getting back to my WOYWW friends to return the flavor of their visits and wishes.

Love your tidy desk and am with you on cutting and organizing. I hope you're seeing some activity on the sale! Darnell #64

I've been busy this last week so didn't enter WOYWW but thankfully I took a photo of a card I created before I posted it. Didn't I do well? LOL.
Your knitted baby bib is so cute on your previous post.
Have a great week and I'll hopefully be ready for this coming Wednesday :D

Hmm, I think its a good idea to cut up the 12x12 sheets, but into 6x6? I'm just not sure and here's why: I've been making some 6x6 cards, because of all the super gorgeous Prima papers in 6x6 stacks, but lo and behold...NO envelopes at the stores in that size! So now what? Do I have to make envelopes? Ugh. Oooh, wait. Do they make a toy, I mean tool, for making envelopes? That I get to buy now? With the perfect excuse? I neeeeed it! :) Well, maybe this isn't such a bad thing after all. ;) But I have thought of cutting my papers(I'm not a scrapbooker) into smaller sheets, but probably more like the A4 size as its practically perfect for making cards. Anyways, I think your desk is still looking very tidy, good job. :) And thank you for stopping by and leaving me a comment already. :) ~Deeyll #163

Not sure about the cutting up, but hey, if it works for YOU that is all that matters, isn't it?
