Baked French Toast - sooooo good!

I didn't realize it has been almost a week since I posted.
Time has gotten away from me.
Maybe I have too many things in the oven right now....
Here's one thing I had in the oven a few weekends ago.

Prepare this the night before and all you do is stick it in the oven and watch it bake!
You've heard it here before.  I love breakfast.
For those of you that like sweet things.
this one is for you!

1 stick butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon (or more if you like it)
chopped walnuts
Melt the butter, brown sugar and cinnamon together.  In a square pan,
cover the bottom with the chopped walnuts.
Pour the brown sugar mixture on top of the nuts.

1 loaf french bread
6 eggs
1 1/2 cup milk

Cut the french bread into 1 - 1 1/2 inch slices, lay that on top of the mixture.
Beat the eggs and milk together.  Pour over the bread.
Cover and refrigerate over night.

Warm up the oven to 350 degrees.  Bake uncovered for about 30 - 40 minutes.
Cut and serve bottom side up.
Yummy for your tummy!

Enjoy
Kay

My waistline has already expanded this winter and this sounds gorgeously yummy, but I must resist for now. Chocolate tomorrow!!!

That looks and sounds absolutely delicious and, sadly, really bad for someone like me with IGT. However, I'll keep a copy of the recipe because I know a little girl who would just love to have this for breakfast. Elizabeth x

I agree with Sandee about gaining 2 lbs. I'll be writing down the recipe and saving it for a special occasion, like overnight company. My husband will go nuts over this, thank you for sharing. Happy Easter, Connie :)
