WOYWW 142 - Back on the Table Again!!

The week before last I managed to visit every single blog that participated in WOYWW.   For those of you that have the word verification,  I couldn't leave comments on at least a dozen sites.  But I popped in, promise!  Last week was a different story -- I didn't link up and made it to only a few blogs.   The numbers have gotten so huge that I won't be able to visit everyone this week either.  I will do my best, but no promises....  If you don't know what this is all about  visit Julia at Stamping Ground to see all the participants.

Last week I had company so put away all my crafting supplies and we actually ate at the dining room table!  My company left Sunday and that meant that things started coming out of the closet!  Woo hoo.  Here's what my workdesk looks like now:
Don't you love a messy desk?!?
I've had so much fun making my She Art canvases.   I love every aspect of these -- mod podge, cutting up paper dresses, using rub-ons and doodling.   I find that I can start two canvases at a time and switch off working on them as the other is drying.

A little something arrived in the mail.
A lovely card from Shaz in Oz -- thank you!  It's beautiful.
The elusive Katie.  She's a rescue from the local shelter.
She reminds me of a little fox.
The knitting is coming along slowly.  For some reason my hand goes numb after only a couple of rows.  This could be a result of a medical condition I have so I'm not pushing it.  Luckily I have plenty of time to finish up the blanket.

Thanks for stopping by!  I read all comments and just love hearing from you.

Peace,
Kay

I love that desk! Good thing your company didn't see it like that! I've started posting on a Tuesday night now that Julia is posting earlier, it means that I get a decent number and not 734 or whatever! Sorry to hear the knitting isn't going well, hope you can get back to it soon.

I agree with the WOYWW visits..so many I try to catch up the following week on ones I missed by doing the 2 even if I'm late. So many interesting posts. Katie does resemble a cute fox..I love it when people take in these homeless pets. I have a heart for animals and they give lots of love in return. Enjoy WOYWW and have a good week

I tried to get round everyone last week but it's getting so much harder to do. Have decided to visit every other one but then I see a name I know and like and have to go have a peep.
I craft on the dining table as well and have to clear each Sunday as that is one day I will not eat from a tray. Lovely 'mess' this week.

I don't try get round to everyone, just the few I can in a day on Wednesday. I want this to be something fun, not a chore that I feel I have to do. We are just too many desks now!

Have you tried knitting with bamboo needles. Once you have worked them in, they are much smoother and lighter to use. You may find they will help you in the long run and be patient to start with. Thank you for your visit earlier. you may find that the Borrowers have got your punch for a while. they will probably return it later. I find I can put things down one minute and the next moment, it has totally vanished. Usually I spot it three hours later after moving everything in the room several times. the only things that the Borrowers keep are gems and other glittery things. Have a good week. xx Maggie #11

Hello Kay, your table looks very colourful and busy now that your friend has gone home. By pressing my nose on the screen, I can just about make out your pink canvas - lovely colours. Shaz's cards are always gorgeous ... I'm lucky enough to have a Shaz original too :) I gave up knitting because my right thumb got so painful ... later it was diagnosed as RSI - I learned to knit at the age of 4 and I'd say I knitted daily since the age of 16 so not surprising that my hand started to complain :) Hope yours recovers soon and that you have a great week. What a great mess on your "desk" (great as in fun and creative not like huge or call the guy from Hoarders). What are you going to do with all your she art canvases? I don't know about you but I can hardly tell what the letters on word verification are anymore, so I appreciate those who turn it off. And what's with the word verification AND blog owner approval? That's too paranoid for me. There is a built in spam filter too... so you know. Craziness! PS... keep that snow to yourself!!!

Hi love your work and your 'desk' looks such fun. I have recently started a knitting group. It is proven to have therapeutic value. I sometimes have to put it aside due pain but still enjoy it. Look forward to seeing your finished blanket. Anne x

Lovely busy desk, Kay, and your canvas looks fun. Lots of nice colours! thanks for your lovely comment on my blog. I'm so glad you enjoyed my project. It's the first time I've printed on vellum and I was thrilled with the result! I gave it to my sister today and I'm glad to say she loved it! I was very pleased with how it turned out.

Hello Kay - you don't have to visit everyone you know - but it's great of you to try! Has your boss rumbled you yet, wink!!??

Thank you for the really sweet comment today - it just made a bad evening good again. We've had a blocked sink in the kitchen - no big deal really but not a good ending to the day!

I see the wild and wacky Judy has been hopping in - isn't she a hoot!

Is Katie your dog BTW, she's lovely. Pleased to see you can craft on the dining table again too!

Maybe I should email all this!!

Hugs, Di xx

Kay, I had to laugh about your story about the table. I have a table in my craft room, but sometimes (actually quite often) my supplies seem to migrate to the kitchen and the family room. I tell my husband it's because I love spending time with him :-) Your table looks successfully productive and creative! Thanks for visiting me I always love hearing from you. Katie does look like a little fox...She's lucky you adopted her!

Hi Di,

I was actually off yesterday (doctor's appointments) so I sat at a local restaurant that had free wifi and ate a dessert and visiting some sites. Although right now I'm at work doing a little more browsing! Yep, Katie is my dog. I have two -- Daisy who is a poodle and is also a rescue dog.

505whimsygirl said...

Hi Elizabeth,
I'm not sure how this "reply" thing works - like, do you get notified that I replied to your comment?

Sorry to hear that you had to give up knitting. I do love to knit, even though I've only made two vests. The rest are scarves, face/dish cloths and cowls. The baby blanket is about 3/4 of the way done. I'm hoping it's the weight of the project that is causing the irritation. I have fibromylgia and lupus so pain is something I live with.

Hugs,
Kay

I took my word verification off yesterday after someone complained. When I visit blogs on a Wednesday I look at my number for example 111 and then visit all those that end in a 1, that way I see a different lot of people each week. Then I just hop to the ones I know well. Someone else's idea but it works for me. If I have more time I pick another number and look at some in between.

I've never made it round to everyone, so I'm really impressed you did it on a such a busy week. Of course, I get distracted by all the other goodies on each blog I do manage to visit, so that doesn't help. Lovely craftiness on your table! That canvas is beautiful. And lucky you for getting that card from Shaz :D. And Katie is lovely too, she really does look fox like. I have a deep love for rescue pups. #15

thanks for visiting on wyoww and sharing your "desk" space too. You mentioned how nice it is to have 2 desks like I do - and it is. But I do a LOT of running up and down cuz inevitably the supply/marker/paint I need is at the other desk! :) But I can't complain, it's a luxury to have the dedicated crafting space for sure!

Can't believe anyone can successfully get round 170 something blogs - it will become a full time occupation! I have been lax in clearing my dining room table after crafting so mealtimes crept into the living room for a while. But the doing of a jigsaw and renewed strength means I am back on the keeping it clear again!
