WOYWW 169

Yep, Wednesday again - and the end of August no less!  I mean, really?  It's the day that I expose myself to all that dare take a peak.  It all starts at Julia's blog - Stamping Ground.  Click here to go where it all begins.

I picked up my desk a bit and have been playing with my Cuttlebug.  I used a Tim Holtz die (butterflies) and cut them out of a Starbucks coffee wrap.  Both of my B plates were cut with the die so I'm not sure what I did wrong.  I like how the butterflies came out though.
This is just a small corner of my table
Here's a full angle shot.
I've been knitting a cowl with some hand-dyed yarn.  The two white things are candlesticks found at the local thrift store.  In the red cup is a collection of silverware also bought at the thrift store (there's a hint as to what I'm going to do with them right in the cup).  Notice the tiny stack of embossing folders.  Peaking out behind the cup is a bumper sticker that needs to go on the car.  It says "Wag More, Bark Less."  Believe it or not I'm a nicer driver when I have that sticker on my car.....

And now, since there were a lot of food photos last week.  Here's a snack I had at a local restaurant last week.
Chips, salsa and guacamole -- ole
As always, I'll visit those that end in the same number as me and also those that visit me (please leave your number).  Then I visit as many others as I can.

Peace,
Kay

Hi Kay, nice shot of your workspace this week. The only thing I can think is that you had one die facing up and one facing down but then you would not have ended up with two cut pieces so that is a mystery yet to be solved.....can't think what you might make with the contents of the red mug either but it is the middle of the night here....Happy WOYWW, Anne x #32

Love the corrugated butterflies. I didn't have a base plate for my butterflies at first and tried various sandwiches in my Cuttlebug to get them to work and they ended up with the metal steel rule part coming through the back of the die by a few mm, so this would account for them marking both B plates methinks. They still work though, but I wonder what sandwich you used - I bought the tag die which I use as a baseplate now and even other M&S mark that. BJ#35

I always love to visit and see what you have going on. I never learned to knit but love that you can. I'm a crochet girl myself so knitting seems backward to me. Also love those butterflies. I may have to steal this idea. What great texture on them!

Hi Kay, lots of nice things on your desk, I can't think why both B plates got cut, sounds like a vicious die you've got there. Your Knitting looks gorgeous lovely yarn you're using. I've just started Knitting a little top for my Friend's baby girl. I haven't knit anything for years and I'd forgotten how satisfying it is happy WOYWW toni #107

Hi Kay, love the butterflies - great texture. I've done the same to both my B plates - got carried away and didn't check the dies were all facing the same way in the sandwich. Talking of sandwiches, your snack looks delicious. Thanks for sharing - even if it is just in a photo :)) Have a great day and fabulous week. Elizabeth x #101

My dad used to make wind chimes out of old flatware. They were neat and made a pleasing sound in the breeze. Of course, this is AZ so the string holding the together rotted so I don't have it anymore. I wonder if your die cut into both B plates just because the paper you were cutting was thick. I've had some dies do that. Your snack looks good. I totally wanted chips and salsa for dinner last night (and got it too, but why on god's green earth is there PACE PICANTE sauce in my house? Its not really salsa, but it is what I had).

Love your corrugated butterflies!! I lpve my cuttlebug, even though I have a bigger machine the CB is my go to machine of choice. Both my B plates are cut up, I don't think you're doing anything wrong (Come to that so is my C plate but I don't think it matters that much). Happy WOYWW, Cindy #85

Those butterflies are awesome like that. I just got those ones and will try them that way. will look out to see what you make with them. Food looks yummmmm Sandy :) $59

Did you cut one butterfly the other way up to the other, perhaps? My B plates were very scarred by the time my cuttlebug died. I have a big shot now and work hard to keep one plate un-scarred so that the really fragile stock doesn't get marked. I'm slow and do not get the clue about the collection of cutlery. Alhtough I like it just as it is, actually!!

Phewph...I'm finally here Kay!
The butterflies are lovely and to think they have been recycled is even better.
I'm stumped as to what you might do with the contents of that red cup?
I'll look forward to your reveal ;D
I wasn't feeling hungry until I saw you're snack! Now I've got the munchies!
Thanks for visiting me earlier and I'm sorry I'm so late getting back to you.

I am not sure why both plates would get cut. With the Tim Holtz dies I put the blades facing up and lay the paper on top and then a B plate. That should be the only one to get cut. Sorry, I am so late getting here, no time for blogging last night after work, had to make 2 cards, 1 for a birthday and the other for my boss who is home sick all week. #27

Thanks for making it over to see me already, Kay! I'm waiting for my friend to pick me up for the day, so I'm getting some snooping in. Lots going on here! First of all, I know you're in great shape, but you shouldn't be picking up your desk. Second, great idea to recyle the coffee cup wrapper into dimensional butter flies. Third, can't wait to see what you do with the silverware. And, finally, crap, now I want chips and guac and I don't have any!! Have a wonderful week! Darnell #125

P.S. What is a cowl? Is that a scarf? Over here, a cowl is a type of collar on a sweater. So if you just wore a cowl, ahem, it would be a little nipply and breezy and, possibly, illegal in some states.

I like the texture of the butterfly on that paper. Nice recycling! Barb

those chips look yummy! Don't worry about the plates, my big shot plates get all cut up when i use them, I think it is normal:)

Hi Kay
We've (me & 2 friends) have just been given a die cutter by Redanne, it was her first one, she now has one like yours.
We've been to a craft fair today to buy some dies to add to the ones Anne gave us.
It was my birthday on the 13th august but as you can see it's still going on. I love them.
Have a good crafty week

Guacamole...yum yum, in my tum :P Love it but there are soooo many calories in it!!
Knitting a cowl sounds good, I hate hats so wear cowl type things a lot in the winter. Looks better than a scarf!
And those butterflies are fab - great recycling :D

Its so nice you have such a large table for crafting on! :)
The butterflies are pretty cool, too, though I have no idea what you did to mark up both your plates...mostly because I have a BigShot and I always mark up the one plate and if that's wrong please don't tell me! lol It's confusing enough to have to think about sandwiches of any sort while in the craft room without wandering off to the kitchen! :)
Have a lovely weekend and thanks for popping in to my blog and leaving a comment. :)
