Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

My little miss, Daisy, has gone to Rainbow Bridge.  I woke up this morning around 5:00 hearing her whine in the backyard.  When I called her into the house she didn't come so I put on my robe and went outside.  She could only move her head.  I took her to the Emergency Vet about a 45 minute drive away.  They took x-rays and they couldn't see any spinal injuries.  After talking with the vet and the technician I had to make the painful decision of putting her down.  This just breaks my heart.   Katie, my other dog, isn't too sure what's going on.  she's smelling where Daisy was and the blanket that I took with her to the vet.
Thank you Daisy, for bringing so much fun and joy into my life.  I miss you.

Peace,
Kay

Hi Kay, I'm glad you liked the recipe - yes, minced beef would be the same as ground beef.

I'm so sad to hear of this. I saw your post yesterday but it broke my heart too much to comment. It is so hard to lose a family member.

Oh Kay, I am so sorry for your loss of Daisy. That must have been so scary for you without any notice at all! We love them so much don't we? We will see them again when we get to our heavenly home....I believe that with all my heart! I love this Billy Graham quote:
"God will prepare everything for our perfect happiness in heaven, and if it takes my dog being there, I believe he’ll be there." Daisy's wainting for you! Maybe with my Lulu (and all the rest!).

Big hugs to you Kay! ♥

It is a decision that any of us who take animals into our lives know we will have to make at some time, but it does not make it any easier. We have had to face it six times in our lives. Our present dogs will be our last, and we know we shall meet them all again over the Rainbow Bridge. xx Maggie #7
