WOYWW 166 and One Year Anniversary

Thank you all for your well wishes and kind words!   You all made me feel the love and support.  I so appreciate my blog family.

Onto the business at hand.  Today is my favorite day of the week (well, besides weekends when I don't have to go to work)!  It's WOYWW hosted by Julia at Stamping Ground. If you don't know what it's all about you really need to check it out.  You'll be amazed.  Just click on the red text above and it'll take you to her blog - where it all begins.

Here's my desk - as it is right now.  In all it's glory.  I've been working with paper - getting in the groove of making some cards and ATCs.
I can't believe that a year ago today I started my blog.  I had no idea what I was doing (and still don't).  I know how much pleasure I have in looking at other blogs, the connections I feel.  I'm so thankful for all of my blogging friends.  To my followers, thank you.  I'm amazed that each of you have chosen to follow my little blog, especially when there's so many choices out there!

I will announce some blog candy in the near future.  I need to do some shopping  -- Tim Holtz will be involved (because I know how much all of you just love him).  I've also thought of including something that I've made -- which one would you like to see?  A canvas, knitted spa clothes (ok, really - they are dish cloths - or face cloths) or painted clothes pins?  Just let me know in your comment -- the majority wins!

As always, I will visit those that end in the same number as me.  I will also visit those that visit me -- I've been successful in doing it this way (at least I'm pretty sure I've been successful - if somehow I missed someone I am so sorry).  Then I visit others as time permits.

Peace,
Kay

Hi Kay,
Congratulations on your one year anniversary!! Doesn't the time fly, I'll be one year next month, just can't believe it.
Your desk has so many goodies on it, I had better not let my little miss see it, she loves all those little sticky on things. I tend to wear more than I stick, natural klutz that I am.
As for the extra something in the blog candy, my vote it for canvas (no surprise there he he).
I'm sure whatever you decide to offer, it will be wonderful.
Have a great week.
Von, no number as Mr Linky is being naughty and you have visited me already anyway :)

Neesie said...

Are you sure there's a desk under there Kay? ;D
It looks like there's a lot going on and you're obviously having a great time.
Like you I'm flattered when people visit and get so excited when anyone decides to follow me, so much so that I do a little dance...sad but true.
Blogland has incredible power and some wonderful people. Who would have guessed that we would get so much out of blogging!
Your blog candy sounds wonderful and I wouldn't mind anything ~ I'd just be flabbergasted I'd won.
Thanks for visiting me earlier and leaving a lovely comment...even without Mr Linky. ;D
Have fun desk hopping with WOYWW.
Neesie ~ no number! lol

Hi Kay, goodness, one year! It is such fun though, I have been at it for just over 5 months now and am totally hooked too. My vote is for a canvas, you do such lovely work. Not joining in today, a bit under par but still wanted to say hi. Crafty hugs, Anne x

Well done you on your first year of blogging....may there be many more :-)
Anything you make would be lovely but I'd choose a canvas.

Hi Kay,
In answer to your question ...yes it's a buddleia or butterfly bush. It's a self seeded one that decided it wanted to grow half way down our garden. As we have a huge garden we allowed it to stay and the butterflies really love it.
Hugs,
Annie x

Oooh, that's a tricky one...um.. well,as I wouldn't do one myself, how about a painted clothes peg. That would be fun!
Sam's shoes are made by Alegria, don't know if UK companies would ship to the
States, but why not try?
I know what you mean about LBB - life before blogging, that is!! I'd have a lot more time again, that's for sure, but my life would be the poorer for not having met so many lovely folk!
Hugs, LLJ #13 xx

It depends on the what I use to make the pendants, glass or game pieces on how I price them. Mostly the glass ones are 5 dollars for just the pendant and more if the customer wants a necklace on it... #106

My vote is for a spa cloth and I love that fancy name for them. So happy to see your table heaped with happy goodness. That is an interestingly shaped bowl you have your peg stamps in.

ohhhhh we get choices? Hmmm...I would love a new dish cloth, but I couldn't use it for anything dirty as it would just be a kitchen adorment! lol But I want something you knit!! I can't believe you have only been blogging for a year, your so good at it! Skip work next week and drive over to Panama Beach and spend the week with me by the ocean! I hear there is a real bad bug going on, cough, cough, maybe you're not feeling too well and need some time off? Come play with me! lol waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)

Hi Kay. I think a canvas would be my first choice. Thank you for joining my blog. Well done for getting 80+ followers in just one year. It has taken me two years to get my fifty but I value everyone of them.
I knew I had read somewhere that someone else comments on everyone whose number ends the same as their's. I do that too and it seems to be a good system. There just aren't enough hours in a day to get to everyone. But I do try to get to all my followers as well, and those who comment on mine.
Do feel free to sign up for a chance to win my blog candy if you would like to. (See I'm celebrating' in the post list on the side bar).

Congrats on the blogiversary Kay, gosh has it really been a year! Love all the goings on on the desk this week, looks like you're really enjoying it. I'd vote for the clothes pins as the handmade item. I don't really see socks as a time constraint, I can put them down and pick them up again an time I like, that's what I like about knitting, it's ready when I am!

Congratulations on your first anniversary, Kay! If it hadn't been for my blog, I would never have got into this whole creativity thing in the way I have - I've always been creative, but the blogging community uncorked a completely unexpected wellspring!! I had no idea how many friends I'd make, either.

The downsizing is necessary because we will have to move when my hubby retires in two years' time. As to where we'll end up, nothing is certain yet - we found somewhere for my parents, and for us to join them when we retire, but it's all being held up by my parents' house not being sold. The market seems to be not just stagnant, but fossilised at the moment! It's very frustrating.

Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi #50

Love all that stuff piled on your desk! There has to be a lot going on, right? Thanks for your kind comment re. that Stampscape scene, but really, it is very amateurish. I have been playing with similar stamps today and it will take ages to get the hang of them. Don't think I actually have the patience. Congratulations on your Blogaversary!

Busy desk there. At first I thought the bowl contained sweets (candy) had to zoom in to find out they were stamps. Still both as good.
Congratulations on your first blogging year - will keep an eye out for your blog candy and I think everyone would be pleased to get any of your handmade items.
Thanks for visiting me earlier. Bit late getting round this week - am addicted to all the Olympic sports at present and not getting time to do anything else.

Oh my goodness...I don't know why, after coming here for so long, that it just clicked to me, that the 505 in your blog name is referring to NM!!!!! I grew up in Albuquerque! I moved away to Seattle 19 years ago, but still miss Albu every October when the balloons fly. And I miss green chile...I can't even tell you how much I miss it...

Congrats on your one year anniversary!!! My vote on your poll is for a canvas! Can't wait to see what you come up with.

To answer your question about the Distress Ink swatches (that you left on my blog 2 days ago...sorry, I'm slow!) the reason I made them, was not to use them in a project, but so that I could refer to the sheet to get an idea of what the color would look like, both concentrated and smeared (it's impossible to tell in the pic, but I smeared a little lightly next to the concentrated color.) To me, the colors on the label, don't look anything like the colors once they're on paper, so the swatches help me figure it our BEFORE I ruin a project!

Oh, btw, I'm your newest follower. Us "505's" have to stick together!

Dear Kay, Congratulation on your one year anniversary! Wow, time really does fly when you are having fun.
What are some of the reason's that I like your blog so much:
* Firstly you are so warm and friendly, right off the bat I felt a connection.
* Another reason is your wonderful road trips and your lovely photos and information about the areas you travel. I feel like I'm sitting next to you enjoying the trip.
* I also love your sense of community, you join in to so many local events and classes. It's great to see your friends and activities.
* Then there is your paper crafts, they are wonderful. I love seeing the projects that you are involved in. I'm still wanting to get into ATC your's are so cool.
* What more can I say, you are a true blogging sister with a heart of gold and a warm and kindhearted personality. I think that I can speck for all of your followers when I say, "We Love You".
