WOYWW 136

Another Wednesday.  This could only mean one thing.  It's time for WOYWW!!  This is a blog hop hosted by Julia at Stamping Ground.  Crafters open up their work desks for the world to see.  If you want to get inspired then hop your way through the links.  You will definitely see all sorts of creatives in their element!
I did it.  I got the Cuttlebug out of the box!  I watched some videos on You Tube and they were very helpful.  Although I couldn't get one of my dies to go through -- the Tim Holtz mini butterfly set.  I did get the Tim Holtz Heart Wings die to work though.  I like the embossing folders and had fun with them.  I may try using the dies on something thicker than regular card stock; maybe those things you put around your cup of coffee?  A lot of experimentation is in my future!
This is my dining table, er, I mean my craft desk.  It has spilled over onto the chairs too!

Oh, I spotted a rabbit in my backyard!
It's been back to work for me this week so I cheated.  I took these photos on Sunday - not much has changed since then though.

Woo hoo the girl has her cute little bug out and she is creating - well done - not sure on the die but your perhaps you just need to add some shims and just use one plate to get it go through...
I dont have any Tim dies so maybe someone else can be more specific but I have found that with the thick Cuttlebug Plus dies I only need to use one B late and then three shims or so..hope that helps?
.. and thanks so much for sharing. Happy WOYWW! love, Shaz in Oz. x #30

Great embossing and die-cutting, I like the spotty green wings!

Whoop, whoop!! So who got her Cuttlebug out of the box - well done you :) As Shaz says, I think it's case of experimenting with less plates and more paper or card as packing (shims is the posh word).

Love the rabbit - reminds me of Watership Down which is just nearby to where we live. I've never seen Fiver and friends 'per se' there but we do get a lorra bunnies hereabouts.

Happy WOYWW!

Well done for being brave and succeeding with the Cuttlebug!! I admire anyone who does anything out of their comfort zone! I love the bits and pieces you've created - swirls are my favourite.
I think that rabbit looks like a leaping hare to me - we have loads around where I live in Wiltshire - they're wild, magical creatures!
Read your previous posts, love the pics around Santa Fe, it looks amazing. The statue of the rodeo rider and horse is wonderful and the shot of the old door is fab too :)

PS Thanks for the link to the recipe. I shall pass it on!

Your comment on my blog this morning was asking about my favorite die. Do you mean Heartfelt Creations die or all dies? The dies at Heartfelt are manufactured solely for them by Spellbinders, my favorite dies so it's a win, win situation for me! I started with basic shapes, ovals, circles and squares and built from there. I also love flower dies the Rose Creations dies from Spellbinders can make the most beautiful rose. It also coordinates with a stamp set from HC that I truly love. So everyone is different. We all have favorite things. Just start simple and maybe buy one die set a month and play with it. You will then get a feel for what you are going to really want. I'm sorry for the long comment, but I didn't see an email address for you anywhere.

Hey! I'm glad you broke out with your Cuttlebug I absolutely loved mine to death. No really, the rollers are rather warped in the middle now. It came from my reading directions on the internet about how to run brass stencils through to get them to emboss. Don't do it! Anyway, LOVE the Cuttlebug for everything else!

Oh you have been working!! Isn't it fun to just play?? I need to do that. Have no agenda with my art...just go with it!

Terrific - you got the Bug out at last and it looks as though you've been having a great time putting it through its paces. It's odd that one of TH's dies worked and the other didn't but, I'd guess, it will be to do with the thickness of the shims ... a bit of experimentation is called for. Have a great week. Oh you need to work that cuttlebug!! I was so pleased when I discovered I could get those TH dies through - I've never had a problem with the mini butterflies, I'm pretty sure I just use the two B plates but maybe some extra shims will work? Hope you can find a way cos they are lovely. Thanks for popping by to see me today, Cindy @ #52

love your embossing, I've been tempted to get a cuttlebug for a few weeks now, the more I see of the amazing things people do with them the harder it is to resist buying one :) x

Yay she broke the Cuttlebug out! Mine was a little tight when I first got it, could only run the tin dies and embossing folders through, and the embossing folders cut right through the paper too! But it did loosen up a bit quite quickly and I can run the thicker dies through too. Just make sure you've got the right sandwich and don't force it, they can break.

Loved your photos on sante Fe, it's been 13 years since I was there but I still remember everything about it, beautiful place.

I have the Cuttlebug and Vagabond but I still find the Cuttlebug useful for lots of dies! TH dies go better with Sizzix but they can be used with Cuttlebug also - I know as I have done it!
Enjoy your crafting!

You look like you've been putting it to good use already. I've never had a problem with the TH dies, just use your B plates for the sandwich.
Enjoy!!
