WOYWW 510

Good morning all!  I'm joining in with Julia at Stamping Ground for WOYWW (What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday).  Happy crafters share their desks and what they are working on.  To visit others,  join in or find out more detail about this go HERE

I've been doing a bit of playing in my craft room.  I started working on another journal using a old book.  I love using old books to make a journal.  They have so much character and history.

We are getting another crazy storm.  Yesterday it was raining, which over night turned into sleet and now snow.  I'm ready for spring weather!!
On the left is one of my first journals.  I use it to keep track of measurements, RAKs, etc.  The book underneath my glasses is the book that I gutted and to the right are the three signatures that I'll be sewing in.  I can't wait to have this one finished.  It's a sweet little size.
Here's a closeup of the book.  Isn't it great!  I put the scissors next to it so you can get an idea of the size.  I had to reinforce the spine because it is so fragile.
Here's a closeup of some of my vintage ephemera that I've collected.  I love looking at it for inspiration.  I'll also start using it!!  haa
Looking out the window this morning.  It's brr cold.  This room doesn't have any heat so I may or may not play today.

Thanks to everyone that visited last week!  I'm getting into the hang of things, slowly but surely.  For those participating in WOYWW, I'll visit those that visit me and those that end in the same number.  It may not be until the weekend but I'll do my best!!

Happy WOYWW,
Kay

Love seeing how cold and bleak it is outside your window. Bet you are glad you are inside today. Love the Gods Eye - it is ages since I made one and you might just inspire me to do one another day.
Your book is so sweet, what a lovely design it has on the cover. It will be a lovely thing to keep and treasure when the three signatures go inside. Are the signatures decorated or are they waiting for you to pounce on that glorious ephemera you have. Whatever, I hope you share it again.
Hugs, Neet 10 xx
ps had the scan, the next stage is a week today xx

I love your little book...of course it only helps if you're using scissors for scale if we know the size of your scissors ;-) It sure looks cold out of your window....i only like to look at snow from the other side of a window....brrrr

I think using old books is brilliant - when I volunteered in a charity bookshop, I used to rescue the old ones that were destined to be pulped and give them to Julia to use - sheet music too. At least they're getting a second chance that way! That's looks bbbbrrrrrrr outside your window, it's very springlike here but very windy!

Just looking out your window made me shiver! We are windy and rainy today with highs of supposedly mid 50s. Not sure we'll make that. Your little book cover is so cool and what great ephemera! Thanks for popping by and stay warm!!

What a lovely old book, and a great way to recycle, or should that be upcycle? I do love a good stash of vintage ephemera - yours looks so inviting! I have some that I just can't use as I love it too much!
Hope you have a great week and the weather calms down a bit,

I didn't realize that you would have snow, you must be in the mountains. I always think of New Mexico as warm and sunny.
It is so good to see you back blogging again, you have been missed.
Love your desk filled with projects and all of them interesting and lovely.
Have a sweet day my friend,
Connie :)

Hi Kay
I wish I could come round to your house and play. I love what you are doing.
A friend sent me a recycled book in which she had placed fabric snippets and I adore it.

Happy Belated WOYWW and thank you for your earlier visit to my blog. It is cold and stormy here, but definitely no snow (we haven't had any this winter). The weather forecast is for calmer weather from Sunday, and I am really looking forward to being able to walk in the fields without battling against the wind. Lots of lovely stash in your craft room. I made a few journals a couple of years ago, and really enjoyed the process. Might find the motivation to do it again one day! I seem to have really lost my love for physical crafting most of the time, which is why I joined in with this Facebook ATC trade, but now the owl stash is sitting on my crafty table and I was aiming to post them today. I have a doctors appointment later, so I will get them made tomorrow. Once I am sitting down in front of it, I will enjoy the process. Ali x #9

Hope you are managing to stay warm Kay. Horrid weather here too as storm Gareth hits the UK. Plenty of wind and rain but we are at least avoiding snow. Love that book cover that you are turning into a journal. Great ephemera collection too! Happy WOYWW. Sarah #3

Hi Kay! Love the book cover, would like to know how you insert your pages! Perhaps when you finish this one you can show us. I am most definitely a visual person as well, if I don't see it, I forget it. Nice arrangement of ephemera! We are finally getting just above freezing weather, the puddles are now melted, but we are expecting more cold and snow next week, Hopefully it will bypass you and you can straight into spring! Thanks for your visit! Lindart #26
