WOYWW - The Beginnings of a Good Thing!

Hello everyone.  I'm joining in with Julia for WOYWW.  Go to her blog HERE  to join in the fun or have a good snoop at craft spaces all around the world!

Since I last joined in I sold the condo, bought the house, painted the entire house and redid the hardwood floors and moved in.  I'll leave that for another post as I don't want to get out of hand!

I will show you the beginnings of my craft room.  Yep!!  A real designated craft room.  I've ordered two bookshelves, a desk and a turquoise chair on wheels.  The desk is also on wheels and will not be located right in front of the bookshelves.  I will order probably four more bookshelves to fill out the space and maybe have one bookshelf in the guest bedroom.
Most of the house is the same color of yellow.   It looks totally different in the rooms because of the lighting.

I am so excited that this actually coming together.  The floors are original hardwood floors that were put in when the house was built (1950s).

I'm not sure where my laptop is -- hopefully I'll find it so I can visit.  (Writing this post somewhere where I shouldn't.....)  As always, I will do my best to visit those that visit me (please leave your number) and those that end in the same number as me.  It probably won't be until the weekend before I get around.

Peace,

Kay

Hi Kay, saw the pics on FB, it's great to have a blank canvas room to organise, so much easier than having to work with what was originally there. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #5 xx

Hi Kay. WOW! What an enormous amount you have achieved in only a few weeks. Well done you. It looks a great craft space! Chairs on wheels are SUCH fun - I have that on the best authority possible - my grandchildren!
Take care. Enjoy your new home. God bless.

SWOON! you are going to LOVE having a dedicated craft room ... and setting it up, organizing, reoganzing... moving it all around again... it's more fun that Christmas! And since I just did this in April this year, I thought I would share this personal observation; it takes about six months of working in your space, and about four major "tweaks" to get it just right! Hi Kay, pleased to see you are settling in but don't rush it. It's better to take your time with a new craft room so you can get it just right before filling it with stash. You asked if they were feathers on my cards. They are a Tim Holtz feather stamp. Thanks for the visit to mine, have a great woyww and happy crafty week, Angela x 14

Your very own craft room - hooray!! It's like a blank canvas at the moment, open to all sorts of possibilities :-). Have fun playing nicely, it might take some time to get it just right. I will have the luxury of a craft room when we get to our new house, can't wait!

How cool! You get a whole house to play with. And by play with I mean work your fingers to the bone with painting and flooring (and unpacking!). Your craft room looks like a great start. Hopefully you'll show us more along the way. I didn't get to start my new craft room from scratch, I had to move in with what I had but after a couple of months I was able to swap out some furniture. Still not quite the same as starting from scratch, but I like a lot of what I have. I'm used to it and it works.
