Holy Moly it's 2015!

Hello peeps!  I am blown away by how quickly 2014 went by.  For most of the year I was very disorganized and really didn't have any, how do I say it, inner mojo (motivation).

The end of 2014 brought some very cool surprises for me, which I will share soon.  This year I'm looking forward to starting on the right foot, literally!

I have some resolutions/goals to share:

  • doodle/sketch something every week,
  • work with my body rather than against it,
  • do a random act of kindness every month,
  • if I don't want to do something I'm not going to say "yes."
I can't believe how much art I HAVEN'T done!  I need to get back to doodling.  Devoting to doodle once a week is definitely doable (all my goals are easily achievable).

The therapy pool is once again open.  I'm excited to get back into the groove of going after work several evenings each week.  It will strengthen my core and get me in better shape for my upcoming vacation and total knee replacement.

The random acts of kindness is something I've done off and on over the years but never on a "schedule."  This could be as easy as clearing the snow off the car next to me in the parking lot, paying for the coffee of the person behind me to donating knitted newborn hats and blankies to the local hospital.

In the past I've been that person that agreed to do something and then spend the next however many days regretting it.  No more.  If I'm not sure I want to do something then I'll just ask if I can have some time to make up my mind; if I know I'm not interested I'll just come out and say it.

I feel very comfortable with my resolutions/goals and am still thinking about what my word for the year will be.

What about you?  Do you have any changes planned and do you choose a special word for the year?

Peace,
Kay

No new words or resolutions for this old girl this year! I always break my resolutions and "Breathe" still works for me! I love that you plan to do RAK once a month. I might just have to take that on as well. It's something I can do without a problem and since my neighbors on each side are elderly doing something for them is always a pleasure! Happy New Year!

Hello Kay your goals are similar to mine. I don't have doodling/sketching as I'm no good at that but would like to do short course on a craft I've not tried. I need to start more exercise. I did well last year with weight loss ( still lots to lose) and want to go swimming regularly. I have other things I need to resolve - not sure I can but going to try. Happy New Year. Anne x

Hi Kay, I appreciate what you said about being quick to agree to doing things and then getting overwhelmed with all that you get yourself into. That is me all over again. No wonder I love you so . . . we are two peas in a pod. I'm taking your advise and telling folks that I need time to think about it first. If that is the only change that I make this year, it will be a good one. It is just too easy to say "yes" to everything and then get loading down with too much.
Hey, I am celebrating my three years of blogging with three Give-A-Ways . . . come put your name in the hat :) Invite your friends to enter, too. It's going to be a fun month.
