WOYWW - Happy Anniversary!

WOYWW -- this week is THE week.  

 The third anniversary of WOYWW hosted by Julia at Stamping Ground.

My desk has a few things going on.  I went to the thrift store 
and scored some crocheted items.

Old Barn in San Luis

Here's some more photos of my road trip.  I passed through San Luis, Colorado.  The sign said it's the oldest town in Colorado -- that's pretty darn old -- maybe older than dirt!

I love the red patina at the top of the doors.

I saw this beauty in the yard next to the barn.  Love.....

Project Pinterest

This post is all about Project Pinterest hosted by Sandee over at In the Hills of North Carolina.  I must admit, I spend a lot more time pinning things than using what I've pinned.  Project Pinterest is the perfect catalyst to get my pin on!  If you are on pinterest why not join in on the fun!  Link up with Sandee and share what you've created.



I found this project and thought it would be another easy peasy project - and I'm right!  You just need to know how to knit.

The bracelet is knitted using the i-cord stitch.  There's some videos on You Tube that you can check out.  Here's the basics:

1. Using double pointed needles (I used size 1), cast on three stitches
2. Knit one row 
3. Do not turn the work.  Just slip your work to the other end of your double pointed needle.  Your working yarn will be at the "wrong" end of your work.
4. Pull the working yarn tightly along the back of your work and knit the next row. 
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you have I-cord of your desired length.
6. Bind off.
7. Attach a button and make a button loop at one end of the i-cord.

I made my bracelet long enough to go around my wrist three times.  It's going to look great with all my summer tops.  

After writing down the i-cord directions I can see how it sounds confusing.  Just dig in and try it.  These would make cute little gifts.  I'm going to make some and put them in my etsy shop.

WOYWW - Lots of drawing and coloring

It's Wednesday.  I missed last week and actually felt withdrawals.... glad to be here this week! This blog hop is a total blast.  It all starts at Julia's blog Stamping Ground.  This is a great way to visit craft spaces all over the world.  You won't be disappointed.  


I just returned from a road trip to Colorado.  It was the perfect break -- lots of knitting and reading.  Add a few naps and it was heaven.  I completed my first set of wristlets.  What do you think?

A few of you mentioned that my doodly bird would make a cute stamp -- so I've drawn the doodly bird for the swap.  I've been busy coloring them in.  So, mine will be simple but made from the heart.

First of all - thanks to all my followers!  I know there are lots of blogs and the fact that you've chosen to follow mine means so much to me.  I appreciate each and every one of you!!!

I'm back from a road trip.  

I drove to Colorado to visit a friend of mine.  

On the way up I encountered a roadblock.

A Tree Grows

 I've enjoyed seeing the transformation from winter to spring.

WOYWW 153 - Doodling

Hello everyone!  Yep, once again, time to link up with Julia at Stamping Ground where it all begins.  This is a best day of the week for blog hopping.

I have started doodling.  I started carrying around a little notebook in my purse so I can doodle on the go. Here's what I've drawn so far.

I use a micron pen when I doodle.  I love how it feels in my hand.  It's a bit intimidating using a pen but that's o.k.  Mistakes and all - I'm loving it!

A Beautiful Saturday at the Crafts Fair

Every year there is a craft fair the Saturday before Mother's Day.  I had a great time strolling up and down the aisles and visiting with vendors and running into old friends.  Here's some photos from the day.

Two of my friends walking dogs that need adoption from the local Shelter

 There is always a great variety of items - pottery, jewelry, lawn art, bird houses, paintings, mixed media, goat cheese and pistachios.  Most of the vendors are from northern New Mexico.  It's always a fun event, but sometimes it gets rain in the afternoons.  This year was perfect - sunshine with a slight breeze.  That's the one nice thing about this area - you can be hot in the sun but step into the shade and it could  be 10 degrees cooler - very nice.


I hope your weekend was as nice and relaxed as mine!

Project Pinterest - my first project

Have you checked out pinterest yet?  You will find so many cool ideas and inspiration.  From color schemes to animals to books to art projects.  I found these necklaces and wanted to try to make these.

I bought my supplies from Sun and Moon Craft Kits.  I've thought of trying these necklaces for a while.   Here's what I came up with.

I had so much fun deciding which papers to use.  I could link these up and make matching earrings or a cute bracelet.  The possibilities are endless.   I may try image transfer next.

This project was so easy.  If you get the kit mentioned above the only other item you need is the E6000 glue.  Here's a short tutorial:

1) clean the glass
2) choose your papers, cut to the size of the glass
3) adhere the paper to the glass using the glue that comes with the kit (I think you can use mod podge also).  Wipe off any side drips of the glue.
4) seal the back of the paper with more glue or mod podge - let dry
5) attach the bail using the E6000 glue - let dry completely (maybe overnight)
6) put on a chain and enjoy your new necklace!  (the kit contains necklaces!)


You get a more detailed how-to from Sun and Moon as part of the kit.
