WOYWW - Hello There!

I've been absent for so long (again).  Life once again has swallowed me up and I've been focused on other things.  Through it all I've been knitting.

I'm joining in with Julia at Stamping Ground.   In looking back at my posts I haven't joined the party since May!  Wow, I knew it had been a long time but not THAT long.

Like I said, I've been knitting so my work desk has been my comfy chair.  Here's a photo of my latest project.  It's a lovely cowl that's knitting up wonderfully.  The photo is a bit dark but the contrast in the yarn is from a dark brown to yellow to a light turquoise.  Very southwest.
Some of you may know that I've been trying to sell my condo and buy a house.  Today I found out that my condo appraised at the purchase price so that's a good thing.  We are scheduled to close on the condo on Monday, October 31!  Happy Halloween everyone.

The next step is the house.  I'm scheduled to close on it on Friday, November 4.  Yep, buying and selling in the same week.  I have movers scheduled for November 9.  Prior to that I need to clean and paint.  Wish me luck.  I have a wonderful couple that I hire to do things for me and they've already set aside that weekend.

I was over at the house last weekend and met one of the neighbors.
My dad mentioned that this buck is in amazing shape and would be considered a "trophy" buck.  He was standing so still that I almost didn't see him, and when I did I questioned if he was real!  There's a herd that hangs out in the neighborhood.  How cool is that!

What's really cool -- I'll have a guest room (for those that would like a visit the Santa Fe, New Mexico area) AND a craft room.  I am beside myself with happiness.  What's even better is I have only one step into the house.  No more stairs!  Yay.

As always, I will visit those that visit me (please leave your number) and those that end in the same number as me.  I'm off this coming Friday so it may not be until then that I get around.

So glad to be back among the WOYWW community.  And really, we are a community.  It's amazing how much we support each other through what life brings our way.  I feel that I've been lacking in that area, being pre-occupied with my own life.  I'm making some "end of year" resolutions that I'm hoping to keep.

Peace,
Kay

Hi Kay. Love the new neighbour!!! he's just grand. I trust all will go well, and that everything will now happen on the agreed dates. here in Britain that can be a nightmare - so I hope all goes well for you.
Take care. God bless.

Awesome to see you on here! I think you are going to be so happy in your house for two reasons...awesome neighbors and no steps. I will have to plan a trip to go to Santa Fe soon! Heading through there Monday but can't stop...heading to Phoenix for a meeting on Tuesday! Hugs...Vickie #11

Good luck at the end of the month with all the moving and selling and everything else. Just love your neighbour! It was quite a shock to see him when I scrolled down as I was imagining a person.
Good to see you are doing the knitting still and this time it is a lovely cowl. Might we get to see a photograph of it being worn later?
Will be thinking of you and wishing you well for all the changes in your lifestyle. You deserve to be happy.
Hugs, Neet 2 xx

Thanks for visiting. Sounds like we both were MIA for awhile. I hated not having the time but can't stop funerals and then the medical issues with my mom. She is doing great and I feel so much better. WOW that is an awesome animal I hope he can maintain his presence. Moving is hard on ones body, but sounds like you will have lots of room and are excited about it. I wish you well. Sometime I'd love to see that area....maybe on my way out to warmer climate sometime !!
We are having a beautiful fall, since the rains quit things seem to be revived. Wishing you much success with your housing deals and Enjoy

Congrats on selling and buying your home! It will be a lot of work, but sounds really exciting. Your knitting looks wonderful. I am trying to teach myself to knit - we'll see how it goes.

Happy WOYWW

HELLO KAY! Isn't this just the loveliest of communities? I live in Creston, British Columbia, Canada, 15 minutes from the Idaho border and only 1070 miles from you! (I just looked it up). I live right in the middel of the Canadian Rockies and have two guest bedrooms and a studio space designed for company... come check me out and maybe we can plan our next vacation with each other GRIN! That cawl is really lovely. I can see a bit of the color shift in it.
Congrats on the selling and buying! Here's hoping everything with the closings and move go well as you move ahead. And wow. . .that buck really is awesome. He really doesn't look real in the photo at all. Very cool!
Enjoy!

Pleased to hear that things look as though they are working out for you though I'm not really sure what a Condo is? The new house sounds great and I'm sure you will be very happy once you can get settled in. Happy belated woyww, Angela x 17

OHMY... I wish I had 'neighbors' like that! (Mine are very noisy....) Thanks for your comment on my 'faces' earlier this week, you mentioned 'button-eyed faces' and oh yah... it clicked. Ï know those 'faces' but totally forgot, so I actually pulled out the button-box and created a face with button-eyes. Lovely! Thanks again for the tip, have a lovely Sunday, love from Holland, Marit #24

Sounds like you made the right move moving away from the condo. Congrats. I think the preference of condo vs house comes down to personalities. Or maybe just living in one for a year. Anyway, thanks for sharing!
