The weather was amazing. We experienced record breaking heat in every single port with no rain. Ketchikan usually gets around 183 inches per year. I packed for a cold trip and instead we got an almost tropical one!
We didn't make it down Tracy Arm Fjord because it was too icy. That's a good thing for the Fjord but I was so looking forward to that special day. Instead we took a route where we got to see about five glaciers, all of which were spectacular.
The sun would typically rise around 5:30 a.m. and sunset was around 10:00 p.m. Talk about a long day! The above photo was taken around 6:00 a.m. We had breakfast delivered to our room as we had a balcony and was able to stand out there and take in the sights.
As you can see, we weren't alone. There were typically three ships in the ports and I was worried about that. It didn't seem to impact our plans and really the towns didn't seem crowded at all.
I love this cruise. This is the second time I've done it and despite some changes in the ports, which I don't like, the wildlife and scenery didn't disappoint. If you've ever thought of doing this you definitely need to put it on your bucket list and make it happen!
I have more to share so keep posted.
Peace,
Kay

Great pics, Kay! I have two friends up there now. Going from Whittier AK to Vancouver BC. They've had cold rain every day so far. I would go but can't sleep on the ships...I'm weird in that I cannot sleep when moving. :( And it'd probably be even colder for me who can't stand the cold temps. So I'll just enjoy pics like yours. Hugs
