Friday Smiles

Hello peeps.  I'm joining in with Annie at A Stitch In Time.  I hope everyone has had a wonderful week and will have an even better weekend!

Some of you know about my fifteen day Hawaii cruise, which turned out to be a cruise to Oahu and back (no Hilo, Kauai or Maui).  We departed from San Francisco and sailed across the Pacific Ocean.  Unfortunately our ship ran into problems just as we arrived in Hawaii.   There was a small fire in the engine room and one of our jet propulsion engines was damaged so we didn't have full speed.  You may have heard about it on the News.  I was on the Grand Princess the first part of December.

In Oahu we went to the Pearl Harbor Memorial.  We also went to the Punchbowl, the National Cemetery.  If you are interested check out my previous post.

Anyway, we didn't get to a beach and dip our toes into the Ocean.  Here's a photo I took on the ship.
I call this one hitting the waves.  What's really funny is I took this one before we had the engine problem.  Oh the irony of it all!

Peace,
Kay

Such a shame about the cruise but your photo made me smile! Especially as you took it before the problems! xxx

I'm a huge fan of irony, too, Kay, and of keeping one's sense of humor. I am sorry about the cruise difficulties. I guess the blessing is that you didn't have a bad fire or stop completely out in the open sea. Your photos and WOYWW were great, thanks for sharing! It's funny because you popped into my head last night and I even made a note with your name on it and stuck it on my laptop in the Playhouse. And now here you are this morning! We are on the same wave length! I hope you have a great weekend!! Hugs, Darnell

Happy Friday Kay - I do love your 'waves' photo - can't believe your bad luck with the cruise are they compensating for somehow? I have visited Pearl Harbour many years ago and it really gave me the shivers, so solemn and quiet, peaceful. Have a fab week Cheers Robyn

oh No!!! Sorry you didn't quite get the holiday you planned. I hope they are going to compensate you. At least you are still smiling about the holiday you did have.
My Pjs are cotton. I love flannel but tend to stick to the sheets like velcro!!

And this is one of the reasons why I don't go on cruises!
