I've continued to do some organizing. I'm happy with the progress I've made as I'm taking it slow. Nothing goes into the closet until I have an actual place for it.
My jars full of fun. Below are cd cases of unmounted stamps |
I've been knitting up a storm. I've made a cowl for my friend that was on the cruise with me (yes, the one you saw on my cruise post), a scarf and an ear band using the linen stitch. Knitting this in the round is MUCH easier than knitting it flat.

I will visit those that visit me (please leave your number) and those that end in the same number as me. I most likely won't be around until Friday though.

I think we all go through changes along the way some things work and something just get put aside and forgotten. I haven't pulled out my beads in ages and have a couple bracelets that could really use a redo but I haven't been into sitting down and doing that maybe one day but at the moment they are just hiding away waiting for me to play with them again.
So have fun and enjoy what you do I think a lot of peeps are downsizing their stash or resorting what they will use and won't use it's tough job but the rewards are just fantastic
You can always post a for sale space on your blog to make some extra craft cash as I like to call it goes right back into something I'm creating :)
hugs Nikki to early for a #
Curious isn't Kay how we chane with time I remember Jozarty has gone done this path too and now makes mainly very beautiful fibre crafts..
...well done on the determination o 0noly out something away when you've made room for it I need some of that.
happy WOYWW. Shaz in O.x
# no number yet, and wont have time to WOYWW later till weekend.
you've made a very brave decision! good luck with your new craftlife, lol!! Helen #2
Hi Kay
We are on the same path as I'm currently clearing and reorganising. I've given myself as much time as it takes so that it's done properly.
With running craft workshops it's hard to get rid of things as I might need them at some point but I have got rid of all the scrappy bits of paper/card.
I've started an ideas book where I put things that inspire/interest me and may take further after the grand clear up is over
Hope you are well

Must be a week for cleaning up, purging, but doesnt it feel good? I certainly do

Another person sorting out! It must be a symptom of the new Year...don't you feel better for it though? And good for you for making th decision about the stamps..what IS the point of hanging on to them if you're not going to use them? Love that cowl too....I'm rubbish at knitting in th round, much prefer the two pin method :-)
Hugs, LLJ 10 xxx
Nothing like a good sorting! I really need to do that but just can't seem to bring myself to dive in! I look forward to your mixed media projects in the future!

Think we are all busy sorting and making decisions...it must be like spring cleaning :-) I used to have rubber stamps but have also got rid of most of mine too. I'm a fabric crafter [sound like an alcoholic don't I? :-) ].
Have a great week.
Hugs,

Hi Kay, sounds like you are having a bit of re-think. I seem to have bogged down in a certain kind of crafting and although I enjoy it it's not really what I want to do. So I'm hanging onto all my stash for now. But am running out of room! Everything has a place here - even if its on the floor!! Happy WOYWW Cindy #29
Fab makes. Like you I;ve moved from on craft to another but now colouring is my thing. I've still got all my stamps but rarely use them. They just get moved around the craft room! Take care Zo xx 39
It is kinda hard to 'give up' on some things/techniques/crafts that we still do like but don't use much anymore... I know how that is. There are also techniques that I would love to try (felting) but don't start as I have enough work with my paper-stuff already. I cannot do with another technique/hobby... there's just no time enough to do it all.... Good luck decluttering and happy woyww. Hug from Holland, Marit #41
It's good to change about crafty ideas. I miss my ATC exchanges and they were the thing I found most challenging. A monthly commitment had me doing it. I make a few cards for friends/family but otherwise no outlet to use/sell them. So I've changed to mixed media, sewing a few things. And have been sorting and clearing out also. Your knitting is very pretty and you will enjoy the results. Have a happy WOYWW kind of day. #33
Hi Kay, and thats a very brave decision to make. It's so easy to keep getting overwhelmed by all the craft stuff, and just not being able to dedicate the time or interest to it. So well done for calling quits and going with what you love most. Have a great week, hugs, Shaz #16 xx
It seems like everyone is organising their rooms! It must be the time of year. Lol. Sounds like getting rid of your stamps is a good thing for you. Have fun!

Hi Kay I love how you are organizing with those glass jars. They look so pretty :)
It is hard to get rid of things, because soon after, you wish you had them back. I have a hard time tossing crafting, sewing and art supplies of any kind.
Good Luck with your plan.
Connie :)
You have to spend your time doing what you most enjoy, spare time is precious so you go for it. It'll be fun seeing what you create. Your jars look lovely, I have my eye on all those pretty ribbons.

wow Kay, that knitting is beautiful. Of course we will (paper peeps) still visit you, crafting encompasses many things and I rarely make cards these days. Never thought that would happen but it has as I am more into mixed media and want to learn to paint and things like that.
Have a wonderful time with your fibres and stay in touch.
Hugs, Neet 3 xx
jars full of fun indeed. I'm glad to read that you're not planning on throwing away all your stamps, because I must say I use a lot of them in my mixed media. Vicky#66
You are busy creating in a medium that you love, whether it be knitting, paper arts, photo, whatever. If you love it, it's worthwhile. If you have to make yourself do it, then not so much fun. Cards are lovely to make (and since I can't knit) - that's what I'm doing right now. Before it was quilting (well, truly buying fabric). I think collecting the stash is a big part of the fun as well. I love seeing what you're currently doing, and it's so pretty & also useable. I like that aspect as well. Also admiring your discipline with the organizing. My Alex cabinets have been together for a month, and I still haven't put stuff in the drawers, nor put a couple of the cabinets in their home. Just so overwhelming when you think "where to start"...so I procrastinate. Hope all is going well with the Life Plans too. Hugs & Have a great wkend.TFS
Good for you for coming to decision on your crafting! Truly there are lots of lovely things out there to play with and we change from time to time. It is good to step back and say that you are moving forward and to leave the past behind. Lovely cowl!
