For Those Cool Mornings

Hi everyone.  Another beautiful Sunday in New Mexico.  Today has been a relaxing day; lunch with friends and a movie.  I went to see Insurgent, the second movie in the Divergent series.  I definitely liked the first movie better.  It was a good escape for a few hours though.

I finished a cowl for a friend.  She has the prettiest eyes and I think this color will really make them pop!
It's a varigated yarn with a sea green as it's primary color.  I love knitting in the round and these cowls are great for sitting in front of the t.v.  - no counting, no changing stitches, perfect!

For this cowl I used a medium weight yarn and size 8 circular needle.  I cast on about 90 stitches, join to knit in the round and go to town.  Be careful not to twist; if you do you'll get a mobius.  I made this one a bit longer in case she wants to pull it up around her face and it would still cover her neck.

I'm still working on the tank top.  I've frogged it three times now!  I finally re-wrote the pattern to accommodate how I think (ha).   I'm almost at the point where I stopped the last time I knitted it.  Let's hope it fits!

Peace,
Kay

Hi Kay our little friend!

Gosh, this really is a beautiful cowl - almost worth being cold for!

Len and I were talking yet again about our love for about NM yesterday evening, don't hold your breath but..........sometime within 18 months or so I reckon we'll be back! Thinking more about closer to Albuquerque but of course I still love SF. Sigh, some fighting to sort out I think, not to mention the thinner air, nosebleeds and so on - old age truly is a b*mmer!!

Love and hugs

Di, and of course Len! xxx

This is so pretty, Kay. I love this beautiful colour and while this may seem easy to you...to me it is a complicated masterpiece!

Hi Kay, I've never tried knitting with circular needles. I know that my Momma loved them, but then, I have never been much of a knitter. Mostly hats :) I love the color you picked for this cowl; your friend is going to be delighted with it. You're such a sweetheart:)
I'm very happy to hear that your snow has melted . . . Happy Spring!

Love the color! I like the idea that she can pull it up if needed. No one likes a chilly nose!
