2014 Is Here!

Happy New Year!  I hope everyone had a great holiday and it was all you hoped for.  I had a great break from work but wasn't able to get some things done (crafting being one of them!).  On December 17 I took a bad fall at work; how does someone fall and get scrapes on both their palm, knuckles and pinky finger (all on the same hand)?  Not to mention the bruised ribs and pulled muscles?  It's starting to hurt less when I cough and sneeze so that's a good thing!

All things are possible with the new year.  I'm on the road towards my dreams.  I can visualize what I want to accomplish.  I have started journaling.  I've been intimidated by the idea for a while now.  I knew it was going to be hard - I am constantly editing myself so how was I going to write without  editing along the way?   Believe me, it takes practice.

One of my favorite quotes is from Julia Cameron.
“As you move toward a dream, the dream moves toward you.”

I'm not making "resolutions" as they are typically known.  I am starting the process of hopefully realizing some of my dreams.  What about you?  What's your approach to the new year?

Peace,
Kay

Hi Kay sorry to hear about your fall. Sounds really nasty. I too have decided to have a go at a journal - gulp. I've had a difficult year and last few weeks especially so. I am going to try to be kinder to myself in 2014. Happy New Year Anne x

Happy new Year Kay, so sorry to hear of your accident. I hope you continue to recover quickly so that you can enjoy crafting again. Thanks for popping by earlier and commenting - your comments are always much appreciated. And, yes, the FiloFax is the little pink and grey covered book - it's now almost my constant companion as I make notes and to-do lists for myself :) Have a great week and a wonderful 2014. Hugs, Elizabeth x

It really shakes you up when you fall, so sorry that you've been hurt. Torn muscles take a while to heal so take care of yourself.
Kay, it has been such a pleasure to get to know you through WOYWW, long may our correspondence continue.
May 2014 shine brightly for you :-)
Hugs, Jan xxx

I make goals along the way as it suites me, as opposed to being stuck on a certain date, which sounds like what you are doing. I give myself the right to change or abandon those goals as needed and often they come around again.

Bummer to hear about your fall. That's no good at all. Fall can really jar you senseless. I hope you are on the mend!

Happy New Year, Kay! Thank you thank you for the beautiful Christmas card! I didn't get any sent out this year. :( Oh my, that sounds like quite a fall! Were you on a ladder? Do take care, watch your step. ;) Look forward to visiting more in the new year! Warm hugs.

So sorry to hear about your fall Kay, wishing you a speedy recovery from it. Glad you are getting back into crafting, it brings it's own special time doesn't it? Take care and realise your dreams and have a happy, healthy and peaceful 2014.

So sorry to hear you took a tumble. I have been journaling for awhile now but I'm bad to set it aside and not write for months. I should pick it up again. I envision someone finding in many years from now stuck in a dusty attic and when they read it they have an insight into my world. Hope you feel better soon girl!

Ouch!! I hope you are doing better. Good for you on the journaling - I've been toying with that idea, but have a little trepidation what might spill out. I have copied that quote though. Happy New Year to 2014. I hope your dreams come true.

Loved the picture you had as the banner on this post. Also liked all the thoughts you expressed so well. Hope the after effects of this fall are beginning to lessen over time, & I'm wishing along with you for those dreams to be realized. Hopefully in 2014, some people will get their acts together, and do what needs to be done for you! Also a big thank you for the lovely card that was waiting on us when we got home. It was so stunning in its simplicity and expression of what Christmas is really about. How kind of you to think of us with such a beautiful card, and I'm guessing the photo was your own work...it was awesome. TFS & Hugs

Oh no! Hope you feel better soon. It is a slow process to heal completely, but even a little bit at a time can make it more bearable.
