Hi all. I've been having fun with my molding paste. Usually I use it with a stencil to give my canvases some dimension. This time I wanted to make feathers.
I made this canvas for a friend for her birthday. She usually doesn't come to my blog so I'm hoping she doesn't start any new habits...... She loves ravens.
I did my usual thing with tissue paper to add some texture to the canvas. Painted the canvas with a turquoise paint then did the bubble wrap thing with a lighter blue.
I drew the ravens and painted them black with molding paste added to the paint. I wanted to add some purple tint to the ravens but I wasn't happy with how it came out. So, painted over the birds again. I added some black paint around the edges. After seeing the photo , I'm going to add some more black paint around the edges.
What about you? Do you have a favorite bird?
Peace,
Kay

Good day to you all! I'd like to welcome my latest follower, Sarah Evans. Welcome to the group! Thank you for joining the party!!!
Here it is Wednesday once again. The day we all stop to visit desks from around the world, courtesy of our host Julia at Stamping Ground. Be warned, it's slightly addicting. All kinds of artists participate so it makes for some interesting desks!
Do you see something wrong with the vest that I'm knitting?!? It's not that obvious in the photo, but just imagine my distress!
I took a class at the new craft store in town. This was based on something that was done at CHA. It's a monthly book full of fun tags, etc. We put the book together and then did the month of January.
As always, I will do my best to visit those that visit me (please leave your number) and end in the same number as me. It may be the weekend before I get around.
What have you been up to lately?
Peace,
Kay

Happy Wednesday! Actually, it's Tuesday night here in the USofA. I'm linking up with our hostess, Julia at Stamping Ground. This is the blog hop of all blog hops. Creative souls from around the world link up to show their desks; some are messy, some are tidy -- all are creative!
My desk as of late Tuesday. I've picked up my acrylic paints and have straightened up a bit. I stamped some images that need coloring. There's also a couple of ATCs there - will post about them another time.
This is what I'm having for dinner. Tilapia with mango salsa and oven roasted squash. Yum! I inherited the dishes from my mom. I love them; it's the Desert Rose pattern.
As always, I do my best to visit those that end in the same number as me and those of you that visit and leave a comment (please leave your number).
Peace,
Kay

Look What I Saw!!!
Imagine my total glee at pulling up next to this amazing little truck AND having my camera! The world was aligned and all is well!
I got caught by the owner of this little beauty - and if I was a fast thinker I would have taken a photo of her next to her truck. She is a sweetheart. She's an artist that works in jewelry, glassworks and sculpture. The name of her business is Goodbetty-Badbetty Deisngs. She named it after Bettie Page, the famous pin up from the 1950s.
Bettie Page is known for her 1950s pin-up photos. She was often referred to as the "Queen of Pinups." Later in life she converted to evangelical Christianity and worked for Billy Graham. If you'd like to learn more about Bettie Page and her life go HERE. When I was reading up on Bettie Page I saw her tombstone. I think Debbie used the same font for the name of her company and her name.
There is a Las Vegas here in New Mexico - not to be confused with the one in Nevada!
Today I'm doing laundry and working on another canvas. This one is going to be a birthday present. I'm almost done and am happy with how it's going.
Peace,
Kay

Mixed Media Canvas Fun
Happy Sunday! It's so nice today that I'm actually wearing sandals! Oh, my toes are so happy!!!
This is my latest canvas. It measures 8 x 10 (inches, that is) and I love it. Painting the sun really got me in the mood for warm weather.
After I took this photo I added dots to the four corners. The two birds are cut from Starbucks coffee cup wraps. I love the varigated texture that they add. The grass area is strips of different patterned green paper. The white dots are made using bubble wrap. All paints are acrylic. I also used a black sharpie for outlining.
Whatever you are doing, don't forget to smile!
Peace,
Kay
