Tweets in the neighborhood

Hello friends!  Tulip is settling in quite well.  She has started answering me when I whistle and when I ask her if she's a happy bird she bobs her head up and down.  So adorable.
Here she is supervising the making of her breakfast
This little tweet is a yellow sided green cheek conure.  They aren't known for their talking ability but that's o.k.  She's a sweet little bird (52 grams) and is settling into her home and loves exploring the house.


I buy her a soak mix that I add hot water, a seed mix and pellets.  I save what she doesn't eat and scatter it out for the birds in the neighborhood. Here's a few visitors that I've had recently.
I think this guy is a woodpecker.  Isn't he just beautiful.
It snowed right after I put the seed out so they had to hunt for it

There was a coyote walking down the road but I didn't get a photo of him.  Luckily he wasn't near the birds and seemed to just be passing through.

    I came here to comment on WOYWW and got side tracked. Love your little bird. Love the other photos too and yes, he is a woodpecker. I ONCE had one and the red head stood out so much - I rang a friend in excitement and she confirmed it was a woodpecker.
    Now to go where I set off for.

    I love her! I want a Tulip too but I know my hubby or the two dogs wouldn't go for it! LOL What stunning pictures - great photography!

    Definetly a wood pecker, I used this site once when I had to identify a Coopers Hawk once:

    Love Tulip, I had a Cherry Headed Conure a long time ago, they are great little birds!
    As for the desk idea, the drawers sometime stick and you can push the whole system off your desk if your not careful. Would love to know if you come up with a solution for this!

    What a sweetie she is! And some wonderful photos! Thanks for visiting my blog-you asked what "Inchies" are. They are one-inch squares that you decorate just like you would an ATC or even a card-they're just very small. I have a binder full on Inchies that I have received in Inchie swaps. Probably if you google "Inchies" you'll find lots of examples of them. Have a great Christmas season!

    Lovely bird post - I love birds and am happy that there are so many in my backyard. No coyote, though, and I love coyotes. A few years ago we had one in the neighborhood and we heard her almost every night. I thought it was wonderful.

    Your bird is so pretty!!! I've never seen one like that before. Sounds like you're a good bird owner giving her special food like that. The birds in your yard really stand out against the snow. That makes it easier for you to spot them. You must live in a cold climate. It's sunny and over 60 degrees here today. Thanks for stopping by and visiting me too.     I have the same woodpecker at the logcabi in the mountains, but there aint any coyotes walking down the road here in Norway. quit exotic isn it with coyotes I mean.

    Oh my Tulip is just gorgeous! We had a bird at one time while I was in high school name Socrates but we called him Socs. I gave kisses, and when I was home he was always riding on my shoulder or on my head (I was his fav!) Great companion!

    Also, I love the photo of the 2 birds in the snow with the pan full of snow. It's fabulous!
    And, yes, your photos would make great cards! Put your name on them so they don't get stolen without credit!!
