Hope you enjoyed the journey in Anaheim. Also hope I can remember all the things I watched as my head is mashed at the moment and so is that of my friend. Think we are still tired.
Love your hankies, can only think of making lavender bags but maybe that is because I just did one at a Make & Take before we left. They are so pretty I would not rush into anything until you see something to inspire. Saw some beautiful work by Ruth Rae (think that was her name)and my friend has just sent for her book Layered, Tattered and Stitched for me. Hope it gets here before I leave. Have a look at it on Amazon, might inspire you. My Monday posting had some of her work on.
Look forward to your "wild abandonment".
Thanks for keeping popping in to see what I have been up to - Hugs & Thanks for sharing, Neet 151Neethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13279125547309537517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7479566980272205458.post-7563876568824483852012-02-01T16:53:29.159-07:002012-02-01T16:53:29.159-07:00Hi Kay, lots of lovely finds - I'd be drawn to...Hi Kay, lots of lovely finds - I'd be drawn to that cup too, super colours. Read your comment about my heart flower tutorial, thanks so much, and thought we'd try to clear up what the glue gel might be called in the States. I wonder if it is called silicone gel? As you can see it is a clear thick glue that dries solid ... and because it is thick, doesn't slip-slide all over the place, it is easy to get dimension with it. One of its uses is for building up the layers on decoupage. Hopefully, if that hasn't helped, someone out there reading this might just know. She walks - rather trots - like a fox! Daisy (poodle) is 12 and Katie is 8. I also have a yellow sided green cheek conure, Tulip.

I'm not sure what I will do with the hankies. I saw a table runner made out of hankies and may make something like that. I love thrift stores - too bad you don't have one nearby.

Hugs,
Kay505whimsygirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16594635228441769910noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7479566980272205458.post-3729346899266808702012-02-01T14:25:54.568-07:002012-02-01T14:25:54.568-07:00Kay sweet friend, thanks so much for stopping by m...Kay sweet friend, thanks so much for stopping by my creative blog today - it's a fun little challenge to take my mind a bit off the cats. It's been a tough January and we're not entirely through with the repercussions from the virus, so yes... a bit of creative outlet helps!!
Thanks also for your little mail - your weekend sounded just perfect! I love your thrift store finds - oh those hankies!! I miss thrift stores as you don't get them in Greece (it's a peculiar pride thing). I just adore rummaging around thrift stores - just think of all the little hidden gems. It's truly amazing what you can find sometimes. I look forward to see what projects you will make from your lovely finds.
xo Joan
P.s. I expect others could well have better ideas but the hankies could be cut up and used to make little lavender or pot pourri sachets to put in underwear drawers. You could work around the embroidery to make the most of it. I have a pattern from years ago (somewhere, but I can still remember how to do it and can explain better) which is to cut two eliptical shapes, which eventually end up as a really pretty heart shaped sachet rather than just square.

Or, you could just tuck one into your sleeve - as a standby :)

Di
xxDihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06153667791623954306noreply@blogger.com
