WOYWW 258 - Snow in MAY in New Mexico?

Holy moly.  It's Wednesday (actually Tuesday, but hey) and it's snowing!

It's time again to visit some creative people all over the world.  Thanks to our leader, Julia, who started this all almost five years ago!  Go HERE and start visiting!
So, what's on my desk?  My knitting, egg carton (that I know I'll use somehow), power cords that don't go to that electric drill (still looking) and my camera case.
Isn't this pretty!
I've been knitting.  This time I'm knitting a lap blanket for my friend's daughter.  Since I've knitted the one sister two baby blankets I thought it would be nice to knit a lap blanket for the other daughter.  Does that make sense?  These colors are perfect for her.  My workspace this week has been my trusty rocker/recliner.  I love my chair.  Needless to say this is knitting weather!

As always, I will visit those that end in the same number as me and those that visit me (please leave your number).  It will probably be the weekend before I'm able to do most of my visiting.

I hope you are having a wonderful week.

Peace,
Kay

  2. Lovely colors in your knitting, Kay! I tried knitting a long time ago but never got the hang of it. I suppose it is because it's never knitting weather in the Phillippines!

  3. I saw the weather report this morning and saw all the snow in CO. Didn't realize it went all the way south into NM, too.

I agree that these are some gorgeous colors you chose for that lap blanket. This will be a real beauty when you are finished.

Happy WOYWW in advance. No number yet because Julia's still asleep.

  6. Hi
It's been a while I know, since I last managed to link up but I'm back now and just popping my head round the door to say hello!

Thanks for sharing your creative space and I hope you have a good week too.

  7. The simple garter stitch is perfect for showing off the gorgeous colours in that yarn! Knitting on a circular needle must help with the weight of the blanket as it grows.
Hope you find the correct cables :-)

  8. Hi Kay, love the knitting, it will probably keep your knees warm whilst doing it especially as you have SNOW - crazy weather indeed. The types of shoes I wear are very limited. If I find one that is OKish I tend to buy a few the same as I don't have any choice really. I have 4 pairs of Cotton Traders suede slip-ons. I even have to wear-in the wide fitting! http://www.cottontraders.com/invt/aq11360 Just practiced my harp having had a few days break from it, it is coming along slowly, went to a hard concert last week which has inspired me more. Thanks for your early pre number visit. BJ#39

  15. Hello kay and thanks for visiting my WOYWDW blog today. looks like you are busy and enjoying your knitting. You were asking about the rock salt- I find good results if you leave it for about an hour but then I have a lot of water so it needs time to soak up. I guess it's just experimenting and knowing when you have reached the effect you like.

  16. That yarn colour is gorgeous - so versatile. Your drill and non-matching cables made me smile - I'm like that all the time! Have fun this week, Chris # 23

  18. Hello Kay. Thanks for visiting already - yes, the dress definitely needs to rest between fittings - so do I!!! Out of comfort zone with this one - but getting there...
Lovely knitting today, Kay - and I don't blame you, snuggled up in your rocking chair, hopefully by a warm fire or at least a radiator!!
    Have a special week.

  20. Seriously, Kay, snow? I did hear about Denver but not New Mexico. Ridiculous weather. We could sure use some crazy snow or rain in California, especially San Diego right now. It's really scary.

Yes, yes, that knitting is so, so pretty!! Oh, she will love it!! Have a great week! Thanks for stopping by to see me and FS! I'll keep a close watch on her leg! Hugs, Darnell #24

  28. Wow...snow in May? That's crazy! I remember YEARS AGO when I lived in Albuquerque, we got almost a foot of snow on April 1st. We all thought that was a great April Fool's joke that Mother Nature played on us!

Your knitting is gorgeous! I wish I could knit!

  29. Your lap blanket is going to be so beautiful! I love the colors and it makes perfect sense why you are making it for the other sister. The weather has been crazy here in Texas for us too. So unusual for May, at least no snow! LOL So I'm not complaining about the cooler temps as it will be super hot soon enough I think! Thanks for visiting my WOYWW post! ~Sandy in Texas #86
