WOYWW 225 - Progress Made!

Hello peeps!  Welcome to WOYWW (What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday).  For those of you that don't know about WOYWW it's the brainchild of Julia at Stamping Ground.  Thanks to her we get to visit desks from all over the world.  People share what they are working on and what their desks look like.

I made some progress in organizing my supplies.  I put in another one of the cd shelving units.  They are perfect for this closet; they are narrower than regular bookshelves.

Here's the before photo:
I've made some progress.  I'm taking my time and not just throwing things back in.
As a bonus, here's the living room (staging area).
As always, I will visit those that end in the same number as me and those that visit me.  I think I was successful in doing this last week; if I missed you, I'm sorry.  It may not be until the weekend before I get around to you but I promise I will!

WOYWW 224 -- I'm Back!

Hello peeps!  I know you've all heard it before - I'm back.  But hopefully this time I'll stick around!!

For those of you that don't know about WOYWW it's the brainchild of Julia at Stamping GroundThanks to her we get to visit desks from all over the world.  People share what they are working on and what their desks look like.

The last time I joined in I showed my vest that I was knitting on and had made a terrible mistake.  I vowed that I would finish it and in a way, I did.  I ripped (otherwise known as frogging) out the entire thing!  I decided that I'd rather take it apart than try to correct my error.  It's now a lovely pile of yarn!

As for my desk.  I haven't gotten messy in quite a while.  I'm showing my closet where I will eventually get my supplies in order.  I've been delayed in this process with company; but this weekend is the time.  This week will be the "Before" and next week will be the "After."  Now that I'm accountable to you I will have to make progress.
That's my first zentangle laying on top of the printer.
This closet is narrow and deep.  It goes under the stairs so it goes past the little yellow desk.  That's my printer on top of the desk.  On the floor are bags of goodies that I move into the closet when company comes.  It's a fast pick up and hopefully the guests won't be nosy and take a peek!

As always, I will visit those that visit me (please leave your number) and those that end in the same number.  After that it will be a free for all and I'll try to visit as many others as I can.

Mama Needs a New Pair of Shoes

O.k.  I couldn't help myself.  I blame it all on Pinterest.  Yep, that's when I first saw them.  I fell in lust.  I wanted them --- NO, I needed them.  How could I resist?  I mean, just look at them!

Your Perfect Day

There’s been talk about morning routines and I can’t help but feel a little jealous… Who has time for a cozy cup of tea, stretching your body, meditating and journaling every morning?  I have to be at work at 7:30 a.m.  I’m one of those that can stay in bed until the last minute and have a power shower and out the door in 30 minutes.  Sometimes it takes longer to feed the dogs and the bird than it takes me to get dressed!

Many “experts” suggest you imagine what your perfect day would be like, and then make it your intention to direct your life daily toward that perfect day.  This definitely sounds like I should try it.  Oh, but that means getting up a bit earlier (could I write down my perfect day using lipstick on the mirror as I’m brushing my teeth?).

Having a routine – some peaceful quiet time - seems like such a reasonable thing to do.  Not to mention the health benefits.  Now THAT’S what I really need.

That’s when it hit me.  I was sitting on my glider in my little backyard, listening to the birds sing and the hummingbirds flying by.  This, right now, this moment, I am truly happy.  It’s not quite a routine and not something I can do in the morning.  Really, I can’t fit anything in my morning time.  But when I get home – now that’s another story.

I had found the answer to envisioning my “perfect day”… I didn’t have to strive for a certain lifestyle, or commit to do a certain activity every day.  When it comes right down to it, for me, it’s having time to reflect, dream, listen to nature and perhaps even create something.

Purposefully doing things throughout each day that reflects your values and makes your life richer… that's what it's all about.

What about you?  What would your perfect day be?

New Mexico Storm

A few weeks ago I was driving back home from Santa Fe.  The sky was dark but amongst the clouds some sun would shine through.  I was amazed at how eerie and beautiful it was as the same time.   Lately my mood has been the same way.  Sometimes full of sunshine and then an unexpected cloud would roll in.  I'd like to think I'm an optimist at heart but sometimes doubt takes over and I feel myself being drawn into the darkness.

I had to pull over a take a photo.  Unfortunately I didn't have my nice little camera with me so I took this with my phone.  I was totally gobsmacked (a shoutout to all my UK friends) by how amazing it came out.
How about you?  What do you feel when looking at this photo?
