WOYWW 227 and Hump Day!

I'd like to welcome my newest follower, Karen.  Thank you for joining me on my blogging journey.  And welcome to WOYWW!

Today is the day -- celebrated for many reasons, one being Hump Day.  Here it is New Mexico style.
Camel Rock in Tesuque, New Mexico
The number one reason is WOYWW hosted by Julia at Stamping Ground.  Creatives from around the world give us a peak into their spaces and, if we are lucky, we get to see what projects they are working on.  To join in the fun hop on over to Julia's place.  You'll be hooked.

I've continued to work in my closet (very slowly).  I've kept my promise and haven't thrown things back in to get them out of the living room.  Here's a quick peek into the closet.
And here's the desk.  New stamps with some Halloween paper, a knitted bracelet, a knitting pattern and a Christmas card I made last year.
I'm not much into Halloween except handing out candy to kids.  This year, for whatever reason, I decided I will make some cards.  Well, really, I know the reason.  I saw this adorable stamp and had to have it.
I fell in love with the little clown.  The sentiment is exactly how I've felt for a while now.  I'm on a carousel and can't get off!

As always, I will do my best to visit those of you that visit me (please leave your number) and also those that end in the same number as me.

Peace,
Kay

  1. Whoa! The closet is looking really good! That is a cute stamp. I went the opposite way with Halloween, which I've not really gotten into until last year. I do not hand out candy! But I do love creating now using the Halloween theme. Happy hump day! Nan G 14

  6. Oh, your stamps are lovely!!! Pierrots are my favourite images and that one is just darling! Like you my main activity around Halloween is handing out candy; I'm not a great one for horror images, although I've seen some amazing Halloween projects around in Blogland. Your closet is looking great! Thanks for sharing. Julie Ann xx #38

  10. Oh I agree - that clown is cute as can be and I am not a huge fan of CUTE but I love him. I love your storage. In a perfect world I would gut my room and build in custom but in THIS world I am always on the lookout for new and interesting organizational tips.

I am determined to be early this week
    Happy WOYWW!

  11. Heh, while looking at these WOYWW-posts it almost seems that half the time half the crafters are busy organizing their stuff - it is on my mind a lot as well. Sometimes I do organize, but not in a good way, e.g. stacking it or putting it in cupboards in such a way that it is too much hassle to take something out or put it the same way back, which results in chaos pretty soon again :P.
Or that you just managed to get everything a good spot, everything is in place and looking nice, and then you find you forgot a box of stuff... A never ending story.
I hardly make Halloween cards, as I wouldn't know what to do with it. Also other holidays like easter, it's not really a habit here to send people cards for such holidays, except for Christmas and New Year orcourse. I love the clown stamp by the way!

  13. Hi Kay, your closet is coming along nicely - everything is looking very tidy. I don't do much for Halloween either ... not since the children all grew up ... except to hand out treacle toffee to the little ones who visit every year to show us their outfits. However, I do like your owl stamp ... I think I would not have been able to resist it too. Have a good week and happy WOYWW. Elizabeth (waving from a very windy Scotland) x #41

PS: I love the photo of the camel :)

  21. Normally clowns freak me out but that stamp is very cute...like Mabel Lucy Atwell, the 1920's illustrator! And I am very impressed with the sorting...it all looks good :-)
And I agree, it does feel as if we are all whirling around at top speed....sigh...that's why time spent crafting is utterly important....

  27. This is to reply to your question about image transfer. What I did was to print out the photo from my computer scan. I printed it onto very cheap, flimsy printer paper, as this seems to work best. Then I put a coat of Paper Artsy Satin Glaze on the fabric and a coat on the front of the photo. I then stuck the photo, face down to the fabric, carefully smoothing out to avoid air bubbles. Finally you put a coat on the back of the photo that is uppermost, as you have stuck onto the fabric. Leave to dry. When completely dry, take a damp cloth and gently rub. The paper will peel away and only the image should remain. Hope this works! Julie Ann xx

  28. Hi Kay, that little clown is adorable and that rock formation is something else, how cool :)
It sounds like you are getting very organized and that your closet is coming along splendidly. I am so proud of you for not just throwing in a few last minute things in order to have your job done. I'm afraid that I have not got your organization skills. I always put something in a place that I have forgotten and then can never find it, until I purchase another, LOL.
    Have a great weekend.
    Your blogging sister, Connie :)

  31. Kay, Thanks for visiting me, sorry I have been so late getting back.
Are you really going to have to create in that tiny space? It will hve to take a lot of discipline to keep things in order to work there, but you do seem to be making progress.
    Enjoy

  39. gorgeous stamps, no wonder you want to 'do' halloween.
we have a tea cosy that is a sheep and has an insulating layer like a quilt. it actually makes the pot hotter which means we can have a second cup half an hour later. i love tea, tea pots and tea cosies. i dont follow a pattern for the one I am making though

  40. I could have a great time playing with all the goodies in your closet. That stamp is so cute, I can see why you had to have it and I agree with the life is a circus sentiment, I'm having the same trouble. Hence, why I'm so late, we were out all weekend.
Have a great week (what's left of it).
